Welcome and Announcements Rev. Dr. Walter L. Taylor
Call to Worship (Psalm 117)
Pastor: Praise the LORD, all nations!
People: Extol him, all peoples!
Pastor: For great is his steadfast love toward us,
People: and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.
All: Praise the LORD!
Invocation and Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory,
forever. Amen
Hymn of Praise 267 The Day of Resurrection!
Confession of Sin
Almighty God, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus;
we confess that we are unworthy of your redeeming grace.
We have not always believed your promises,
nor trusted in our living Lord.
Forgetting his presence and redeeming power,
we have been overcome of evil.
We have not listened to the good news of his victory over death,
and have refused to be comforted.
Too often we have looked at the world
from the perspective of death, as if Christ were not risen.
Have mercy upon us, O Father,
and grant us the full forgiveness of our sins.
Restore to us the joy of our salvation,
that in both our speaking and our doing
we may be witnesses of Jesus’ resurrection.
We ask this through our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
